What I do

I am an email and lifecycle marketing strategist, educator, copywriter, and email speaker. I work 9-5 in SaaS (software as a service) marketing, and then offer consulting (one-off and long term handholding) for e-commerce, D2C, and SaaS businesses.

Consulting

My specialty is Email Audits. I’ll review your current automations, design, deliverability, and past 6-months of one-off campaigns. I then provide you with a 15-20 page report outlining your state of affairs, with three growth milestones you can focus on moving forward.

I also offer 1:1 email consults via Zoom. We can chat through any of your questions.

Seminars and workshops

Want to teach your team about the latest email trends and best practices? As a current instructor at Jelly Academy, I’m a well-seasoned instructor and love delivering advice on best practices, campaign planning, or team dynamics.

We can work to put together a seminar or workshop that will best suit you and your teams needs.

Speaking engagements

Looking for an email expert for your next conference or webinar? I’ve spoken as an expert at various events from Marketing Profs, Movable Ink, and Email on Acid, the Canadian Email Summit, and Litmus Live.

If you are interested in working together, whether short—term or long—term, let’s connect! We can chat about what you are looking for and make sure our budgets, personalities, and outcomes align!

FAQs

Came here for an email question? Here are some quick q answers:

+ Should I be sending a newslettter?

Are you wanting to send one because all other brands are? Or because you have something worthwhile to say. Think about what action you want to drive from your user, and if a blanket blast send is the best route to drive your user towards your goal.

+ What is the best ESP?

Starting out? MailChimp. Have an e-commerce site? Klaviyo. Want to send push & in-app messages? Braze.

+ What emails should I send?

I recommend a welcome email sent as soon as you collect a subscriber’s address, and a minimum once a month engagement piece to engaged subscribers - this doesn’t have to come in the form of a traditional newsletter. Think outside the box.

+ What data should I collect on my subscriber?

You don’t want subscribers to fall out of your funnel before you even grab their email address. Make signup details simple. First name + email will suffice, and then cater your onboarding to gather more information if you want personalize your campaigns based on demographics or details.

+ What's a good open rate?

10-20% is safe. However, if you clean your email list, and send engaging content it should be much higher. I’d look for a 40-60% open rate for something like a welcome email.

+ How can I track the success of my email?

Check out these two Google Analytics dashboards from Dan Oshinsky. Game changers for measuring traffic and conversion.
